Though the cast members may be ever-changing (and, in many cases, ever-dying), HBO’s The White Lotus isn’t going anywhere. The award-winning satire has already been renewed for a fourth season, with fans clamouring for clues about what chaos creator Mike White is planning next.

🕰️ When Will The White Lotus Season Four Be Released?
Bad news for those already packing their designer luggage — season four hasn’t started filming yet. According to Variety, the show likely won’t air until 2026, so don’t expect to check into the White Lotus anytime soon.
🏞️ Where Will It Be Set?
If the past is anything to go by, we can expect another ultra-luxe international location — but this time, we might be leaving the beach behind.
Creator Mike White has teased that the next instalment may finally leave the crashing waves and white sands behind for something a little different. While all three previous seasons were filmed at Four Seasons resorts near coastlines (Hawaii, Italy, and Thailand), White hinted at moving inland, but with the same chaos and death in tow.
“I want to get a little bit out of the ‘crashing waves against rocks’ vernacular,” White told press. “But there’s always room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels.”
And according to HBO’s drama head Francesca Orsi, Europe is a strong contender. She told Deadline in February that the team was headed off on location scouts and hinted that the next destination could be somewhere continental.
Meanwhile, series three breakout Aimee Lou Wood has her own idea: a ski resort.
“I’d love to see them in a cold place,” she told heat, “with everyone flustered, but in ski gear instead of linen shirts.”
Honestly? Ski lodge murder mystery vibes? We’re in.
🎭 Who’s In The Cast?
Not a single name has been confirmed just yet, but if The White Lotus tradition holds, we’ll get a mix of fresh faces and familiar chaos-bringers.
Jennifer Coolidge (aka Tanya McQuoid, queen of chaotic fabulousness) was the only season one cast member to return for season two — until Greg (ahem “Gary”), her sketchy husband played by Jon Gries, showed up in season three. Along with Natasha Rothwell’s Belinda making a triumphant return, season three continued the show’s habit of keeping at least one thread from the past alive.
So, who could be back next?
Fan theory of the moment: Greg’s reckoning. After multiple seasons of shady behaviour, viewers are hoping Jon Gries returns to meet his fate at yet another White Lotus property.
📝 What’s the Theme?
While we don’t know much about the plot yet, Mike White previously described season three as focusing on “death and Eastern religion and spirituality” — and it delivered.
No word yet on the theme for season four, but judging by White’s writing track record, expect it to be a dark, biting look at class, privilege, and personal delusion, all wrapped up in bougie holiday aesthetics.
